Fixing the CorrectEnglish AddIn in Word 2003 (and older) |
|
CorrectEnglish™ is integrated into Microsoft Word and Outlook (desktop only) as an Add-In. It should appear as a small button on the toolbar in Word 2003, and in a CorrectEnglish™ ‘ribbon’ on the menu in Word 2007.
Part 1 - Checking the Word AddIn status in CorrectEnglish
-
Open CorrectEnglish.
-
Click
OPTIONS in the upper right-hand corner of the CorrectEnglish console.
-
Check the MS Word Add-In box in the lower right corner of the Options panel.
- If the Word AddIn status is "Word is loaded at startup and is loaded," close CorrectEnglish and proceed to Part 2.
- If
the Word AddIn status is "Word is loaded at startup but is not loaded,"
click the "Fix Word AddIn" link. If you receive any error messages at
this time, please record them and contact ce-support@vantage.com
immediately. Otherwise, close CorrectEnglish and proceed to Part 2.
Part 2 - Enabling the CorrectEnglish Add-In in
Microsoft® Word 2003
-
Open Microsoft Word.
-
First, right-click your mouse in the toolbar area.
-
If CorrectEnglish appears on the toolbar list, click to select it.
Go to the Help menu.
-
Click About MS Word.
-
On the bottom of the About Microsoft Word screen, click
Disabled Items.
-
Look for CorrectEnglish in the list of Disabled Items.
-
If it is on the list, select it with your mouse and choose to
Enable. Close all open Word or Outlook documents and restart Word. CorrectEnglish should now be available on your toolbar list and/or be on the toolbar at startup.
-
If it is not on the list, click Cancel and contact ce-support@vantage.com.
If you need help enabling the CE AddIn in Word, please contact
ce-support@vantage.com with the following information, so we can help
you activate your CorrectEnglish AddIm:
-
What version of Windows are you running (XP, Vista, other)?
-
What version of Word do you have installed (2003, 2007, other)?
-
What does the Word AddIn status in CorrectEnglish say? (See Part 1, above)
-
Did you receive any error messages at any point during troubleshooting this issue?
Note: If CorrectEnglish™ does not appear on your Outlook Desktop toolbar in a new e-mail or reply, but does appear in Word,
make sure that Microsoft® Word is selected as your e-mail editor.
